CEREMONY SITE Thorncrown Chapel is a stunning glass-and-wood structure nestled in the Ozark woods, designed by world-renowned architect E. Fay Jones. Inspired by Paris’ Sainte-Chapelle, it’s often called “Ozark Gothic” and features over 6,000 square feet of glass that beautifully reflects light and nature. Built entirely from organic materials small enough to be hand-carried through the forest, the chapel blends seamlessly into its hillside setting—offering a truly one-of-a-kind experience that changes with the light and seasons. Rules:No smoking, food, or drinks are allowed on the chapel grounds.

Things to Do

Brook Lyn and Joshua met in August 2017 at Francis Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as students in the Engineering Academy. Joshua entered the academy as a Junior, while Brook Lyn was a Sophomore, however, they were placed in the same engineering introductory courses.

- 2017: paths cross -

On the third day of class, Brook Lyn greeted Joshua with a "Hey!"... He was hers from then on. He tells it as though she put a spell on the greeting that made it so. Although they enjoyed each other's company in class, Brook Lyn and Joshua truly connected while competing on the same Mobile Robotics competition team through June 2018.

- THE canon event -

Interested in real estate and "partially" influenced by Brook Lyn (as he likes to claim), Joshua enrolled at Oklahoma State University as an Architecture Major following his Graduation from Deer Creek High School in May 2019. He soon circled back to engineering, declaring himself a Mechanical Engineering Major.

- 2019: go pokes -

The pair maintained their connection and went on their first date in February 2020. Two months later in April 2020, they made it official. Brook Lyn joined Joshua at Oklahoma State University Majoring in Architecture with a Minor in Architectural Entrepreneurship following her Graduation from Edmond Santa Fe High School in May 2020.

- 2020: following suit -

Joshua Graduated from Oklahoma State University with his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in May 2023. He accepted a position in Tulsa, OK at L3Harris Technologies as a Software Engineer, a position aligning closely with his incredible passion for programming. Brook Lyn continues working towards her Bachelor of Architecture at OSU. She will graduate in May 2025.

- 2023: loyal and true -

The two have always cheered for each other's successes and achievements, provided support and guidance through challenging times, and inspired each other to be the best versions of themselves. Their love grows stronger every day that passes. On March 20th, 2024, Joshua proposed to Brook Lyn outside of Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas: "Brook Lyn Jones, I could give a long speech, but my hope is that when you wake up every morning and see me for the rest of our lives, you feel all the things that I could only ever hope to say to you. Will you marry me?" Of course, through her tears, she happily accepted. Brook Lyn and Joshua are grateful to grow up together and understand how lucky they are to have found such love early in their lives. It brings them immense peace knowing they will grow old beside one another.
